It's tough to explain to a lot of fans why we need a QB, especially those that have been around here for the worst of times. Most are just happy we're winning again. It's been a long time since this franchise has had a game changer at the QB position though. At this point I just hope we don't go another offseason neglecting the position. There are some options out there this offseason. There is really no excuse. I know his surgery makes it all but certain he will be back next season so we might not be able to be in the Cousins bidding, but I hope we don't shy away from making a bold move in the draft. I just want more game winning drives to start feeling like field goals do with Lambo. It was an amazing feeling to go from worrying about extra points to expecting him to hit for over 50 in a championship game. I never said it had to be a free agent but to answer your question, not many pan out because rarely are proven QBs out there. This year is an anomaly and rare opportunity. Obviously we've already missed the boat on the 1st two (Jimmy and Alex), we'll see if we get in the mix for Kirk. If we miss that one, the good thing is there will be fewer teams that need QBs come draft day. I am willing to bet that SF, Washington and whoever takes Kirk will have better years next year. If the Jags are serious about taking advantage of this window, you will see a move made to get their guy. They said there was no one worthy last year but does anyone think Houston isn't better with Watson. Houston and Indy will not be whoopin boys next year and I don't even need to mention the tacks. |
