To add insult to injury, the year Manning retired guess what, they lost players in Ward, Trevathan and Jackson (why do y’all think we have a pro bowl, super bowl winning DT on the team now). I get the angst over wanting to up grade Blake, I really do but I want long term sustainable success. Not a swing for the fence for 2 years. We can have years of milk and honey or try to get it all now and then end up with nothing and back to mediocrity at best.

I mean sheesh look at Denver. They had instant success and now they are back in the gutter. This would be a huge Gamble on a guy like Cousins who is no where near the player Ole big head was.

I dont understand this argument? We will have to pay Bortles next year and if glennon got 15 Bortles can get 20+ a year...

It's more of a precursor to what we should expect. We've seen this same situation plyay out with manning in 2013. They went to the playoffs 4 times with 2 super bowl appearances and 1 championship. After that four year run they now suck and even had to lose players in the process. We have a defense just as good as theirs, prolly better running backs but less talent at receiver. So the question I'm asking is do we think Cousins will produce at minimum what Manning produced in Denver possibly over a 2-3 year stretch before we start losing guys?  
We made the Afc championship game without him so he would have to win a ring at least by year two to justify his contract and us potentially losing dynamic defensive pieces. Basically do you think he is that good based on what you've seen from him this far?

At this point I'm burnt out on this argument lol. I have my thoughts and others have theirs. I'm glad Coughlin is running the show and I have full confidence in whatever he decides to do either way.
