What is Aaron Colvin’s market value?

Given his role on our team, and the way he fits our defense, it seems like he's worth more to us than he would be to someone else, but unfortunately, there are always going to be talent-starved teams who throw money at players (like we did for a couple of years). What's he worth and what's he going to receive are totally different. As far as his actual value he's probably worth about five or six million a season as a decent slot corner that does a good job making tackles but who almost never makes a play for the ball. In the open market I expect he probably get more like seven or eight million a year. For the Jaguars to sign him I'd want it to be a 20-30 million dollar contact for four or five years with less than ten million in guarantees. I expect he'll get more like 30-40 with about 15 guaranteed. |
