He's averaging $13.3 mil, and if you subtract that from the Jaguars cap space you indeed get to right about $16 mil, however, chances are the contract structure is backloaded and that his first-year cap hit is a bit less.

I'd rather front load it and leave space in 2019/2020 for all the second contracts coming up on defense.

The Jags can address nickel corner, RG, TE and backup QB in the draft without needing to throw around much more FA money.
