Is it really a 2 year deal if we cut him and leave 9 mil in dead cap in year 3? I don't think so. Heck it would even hurt in year 4 and leave 6 mil in dead cap. I think it's one we have to ride out.

Yeah. They've structured many deal with "outs" and this isn't really one of them. They are counting on this guy to be a stud run blocker for Fournette for the duration.

Besides - the cap situation is different from year to year as is the team's "win now window."  Those things directly affect the FA approach.

The out has a lot more dead money in it. Calais only 3 mil, Telvin 2.4 mil, Linder 0, Church 0, Gipson 2.4...Norwell 9 mil.

One player's deal doesn't indicate a shift in philosophy - gotta look at all of them for that.
