I think the article was compiled with an elementary mindset.
With good draft selections, good free agency signings, and responsible cap management, teams can maintain success over decades. I kind of view the Jags like the Ravens. They were able to maintain success via a great D and only started deterioration when they didn't get their return on investment after giving Flacco an elite QB contract in 2008ish. If the Jags can maintain a great D and make a wise decision @ QB (even if it is Bortles on a moderate Contract) we should be able to maintain 10 years of solid play (in the hunt each year). |
