That was for the 5th pick, not the 3rd.  


As for the Redskins trade, it was still a smaller difference than moving from 3rd to 4th going by the draft value chart.  


Pick 3: 2200 points

Pick 5: 1700 points

Pick 6: 1600 points

Pick 7: 1500 points

Pick 10: 1300 points

Pick 16: 1000 points


The pick we traded to the Redskins to move up was worth 410 points 


The pick we traded to the Buccaneers to move up was worth just 96 points.


Of course the point values are subjective, and not 100% reliable.  But obviously trading down from 3 to 6 ought to get you more than trading down from a later pick.
