TheO-LineMatters 7 round mock draft (2nd attempt)

#31

First of all, good job. It takes a lot of thought to come up with a 7 round mock draft. Nobody out there can do one of these without facing criticism, but the thing I like is it gives us the opportunity to either agree or come up with alternative picks. That being said, here's my take on your picks.

Rd. 1: Clark - This is a gutsy pick which I don't agree with. No doubt, he has tremendous upside based on his size, speed and athleticism. His body of work was limited due to the offense he played in and he will need time to develop.
Although the Jaguars may not have a true number 1 receiver, I believe they have enough talent to wait until a later round to take wide-receiver.

My pick: I wish you gave the Bills Lamar Jackson so Rudolph would have been your pick. I still think the Jags will somehow land Rudolph, but for the sake of your mock I'd have to go with Isaiah Wynn. He will
He'll immediately start at guard, but his value is in his ability to also fill in at tackle. Whether he can switch sides is beyond my scope of knowledge, but I'm hoping he can make the adjustment.

Rd. 2: Hurst- I like this pick the most. He can do it all and contribute immediately. I'm not sure why, but I have a hunch they'll take Gesicki in the 1st. I just like the combo of Wynn/Hurst more than Gesicki and someone like
Orlando Brown.

Rd. 3:Gossett- Too early for this guy. I'd be o.k. with him in the 4th and it wouldn't shock me if this happened. My pick is Nyheim Hines. A perfect complement to Fournette. Very explosive and versatile.

Rd. 4: White- I have mixed feelings taking a quarterback this late in the draft. What are the odds that he'll ever become a franchise q.b.? That being said, if they can't get Rudolph this guy is probably the best Tier 2 q.b. in
the draft and can at least be an adequate back-up.

Rd. 5-7 Don't know much about the guys you picked. I'd probably target a young nickel-back like Rashaan Gaulden of Tennessee who has the attitude to blend in with our current group. I'd take the best punter available
in the 7th round to save salary cap room. Townsend or Dawson are good candidates. With my last pick, I'd go for another receiver. They found Hurns and Cole after being undrafted so maybe they can find someone here.
Two big bodied guys who may last until the 7th are Jake Wieneke from South Dakota State (teammate of Goedert) and Javon Wims. I'd probably take them 1st in the 7th round before the punter.

Again, kudos to you for your comprehensive mock draft.
