I'm sorry, I didn't know that doing the smart thing and providing adult supervision to this demonstration that's going to happen whether your tighty-righty snowflake mentality can handle it or not was a terminal offense.

I don't know, if it were my kid, I'd rather they be out there under adult supervision to make sure everyone stays out of trouble during the walkout and kids don't decide to just not come back. Let them face the consequences for their actions once they get back into class. And there absolutely should have been consequences. Could be suspensions, could be detention, could be loss of privileges, could be as simple as being required to write a couple of pages explaining why you felt it was necessary and proper to leave class for that walkout. There was no point doing it if kids weren't going to learn and grow from it, and one of the lessons high school is all about is that actions have consequences, but that doesn't mean the action itself was bad.

I saw a video on FB where one of the kids was addressing the kids who had walked out, asking why they walked out, what they were supposed to be doing while they were out, and what this walkout was supposed to accomplish while they were doing nothing but standing around wondering what they were supposed to be doing...If I was one of those kid's parent, I would be making all kinds of trouble for the school district and school system in general...
