What would jags have to give up to get Mayfield.

My understanding is that Mayfield's listed height of 6'1" is being very generous and that he may be closer to 6' 1/2".  There's no precedent for a QB of Mayfield's height being drafted high in the 1st round (there's a good reason for that) which leads me to believe he may still be there in the teens and perhaps later.  Unfortunately there are QB needy teams picking in the teens as well.

I'm not really a fan of his schtick, but if we were able to acquire him at the back half of the 1st round I think I'd be able to get on board with it.  A trade into the mid to late teens shouldn't be back breaking.  Last year, KC gave up picks 27 and 91 (1st and 3rd) and this year's 1st which ended up being pick 22 to move from 27 to 10 to get Mahomes.  Houston gave up pick 25 last year and this year's 1st which ended up being pick 4 to move from 25 to 12 to get Watson.

If the Jags moved from 29 to let's say 16 or so, I'm guessing it would involve next year's 1st or at the very least this year's 2nd.  The Jaguars should be expecting to pick in the 20's again next year so giving up a future 1st shouldn't preclude them from trading up.  However, I'm sure the tinhorns weren't expecting to earn the #4 overall pick when they made their trade last year.  If Watson is as good as some believe, it was probably still worth it though.

Last thought would be that Mayfield doesn't really seem like a personality that would mesh well on a team where Coughlin is ultimately calling the shots.

I keep seeing 6' 5/8"  for Mayfield when I dig around.

If I recall correctly Brunell was almost dead on 6'1" in his playing days.
