You're probably right. I just don't understand why you would take away from the playing time of two really promising second year receivers (Cole and Westbrook), in order to play a disappointing posession receiver with bad hands (Lee)?

Cole, Westbrook, Mickens, Wynn
all showed a lil bit at times last year (wynn in preseason and TC)
They'll all have a chance to earn more playing time and I would think the best receivers will see the field the most. If it is Cole and Westbrook so be it.
But Lee had a lot of drops last year in the beginning and middle of the season and didn't record another drop after like week 9 or 10.

I'm not a big Lee fan either. But he's the tenured guy in the WR group and he has a skill set different than Cole and Westbrook... I don't think Lee will limit their playing time any.
There's also Moncrief who signed a deal that suggests they expect him to be on the field a lot.

But outside of a few plays, Westbrook didn't show a lot last season to deem him the automatic #1 or #2. And honestly, Cole had a stretch of like 3 good games and was pretty absent outside of that. Mickens had 1 game where he nabbed 3 TDs or something and was invisible mostly otherwise.

I don't see how anyone could say Westbrook and Cole are clearly better receivers and deserving of the #1 roster spot heading into camp.
But you could say they deserve the chance to compete (which they will) and I doubt the contract of Lee and Moncrief will keep those guys on the bench if they are clearly playing better
