NFL Network: Best QB in the AFC South?

#14

Not surprising at all. Especially when they're all healthy. Luck inherited a dumpster fire for a franchise and still managed to go 3 - 3 in the play-offs during his first three years. This is with no running game, no offensive line, no defense and maybe just T.Y Hilton to boast on the outside. Has he been Peyton Manning? No. But to be 43 - 27 with a 3 - 3 play-off record at the age of 27 while missing a ton of time and playing through brutal injuries over the last two years is still pretty damn impressive. When he's at 100% we should all be concerned.

Watson was playing like he was on track to win OROY before the ACL injury that landed him on IR. He has a ton of potential. Clearly the ability is there. But as NYC pointed out. It's too early to crown the kid. Not enough tape on him yet. Still has a lot to prove in year two. And that leaves Mariota. In all honesty. I think he's a little overrated. He regressed a lot last year and for the most part he's been carried by a strong running game, a stout offensive line and a defense that has gotten better each year since he's been there. Bortles and him are about the same QB IMHO. But I give Bortles a slight edge because he played better than Mariota last year.

For me, when everybody is healthy, it would look like this right now:

1. Andrew Luck - When he's healthy he's a threat. May be a bigger threat with Reich as the head coach bringing over a KC/PHI style offense.
2. Blake Bortles - Progressed nicely and should improve on 2017. Hackett and Marrone seem to have a good plan to support him and his skill set.
3. Marcus Mariota - Neck and neck with Blake but he regressed in 2017 and I think Blake will be better. Especially with Vrabel there for the first time coaching that team.
4. Deshaun Watson - Showed a lot of flashes in a short amount of time but he won't be a surprise or rookie sensation in 2018 anymore and they're also changing the offense on him this year.
