At What Point Is Gus Bradley On The Hot Seat?
|
Quote:The question one must ask is did Gus do better than Mularkey. (Who many felt deserved the can). Mularkey was 2-14. If you cant do better than that or at least look competitive (another mark on Mularkey) then you should be shown the Door. If the Jags go 0-16, the head coach should be fired, no matter who it is/ no matter the circumstances. Think Rod Marinelli. Quote:He's not in any hot seat this season even if it's 0 - 16. You can't just rotate coaches like a revolving door. Mularkey was a lost dog as a head coach where Gus knows what he's looking for. He did it with Pete Carroll from the get-go and he'll do it again. Disagree with the first sentence. Quote:Even Mularkey went 2-14. Don't care they gutted the roster because that sounds like a me problem. We can't go 0-16 and right now it's not one team in the league we can beat; Rams is our best chance. I really wish Caldwell would've went and gotten his buddy Greg Roman. Think the being friends factored heavily into not hiring him. I really wish they'd have at least -interviewed Greg Roman, and done their due diligence, rather than hiring Bradley off of one interview, which went away from the philosophy that was executed with the Caldwell hire. Quote:The players on defense aren't quitting. They're playing hard. To me, that's coaching. For the most part I agree...however see above. Quote:Mularkey had a history of failure. His hiring in the first place was a bad move. Gus Bradley is new, and deserves some time. This roster is bad. As someone said, Vince Lombardi would have this team at 0-4 right now too. And we had to get rid of Gene Smith. And we could not tie a new GM to Mularkey. Totally agree that hiring Mularkey was [BLEEP]. But right now we are possibly in a pattern of hiring bad choices for head coach, much liek what was going on in Detroit for years. Having a bad head coach AND a bad roster are not mutually exclusive entities. You can - (and we might) have both.... The Jags were the only team out of 8 openings this offseason to hire a defensive minded head coach. If this team goes 0-16 (winless), you've got to replace the head coach. |
