  • Tanner Lee - 17 sacks
  • Baker Mayfield - 18 sacks
  • Kyle Lauletta - 20 sacks
  • Josh Allen - 22 sacks
  • Kyle Rudolph - 23 sacks
  • Josh Rosen - 26 sacks
  • Sam Darnold - 29 sacks
  • Lamar Jackson - 29 sacks

While that is a surprising stat there is much more that goes into handling pressure than just sacks. Lee has no problem taking a hit and getting the BL away.

Listen to Caldwell when he puts a heavy emphasis on Lee's performance when kept clean. Every QB suffers when under pressure, Lee just happens to be much worse at dealing with it.

It is a surprising stat which may just suggest he handles pressure just fine. I can imagine he didn't look at that great considering Caldwell even said he was under duress all season at Nebraska, and this much was reflected in his stats. He played behind a leaky o-line with consistent pressure heading his way, and yet he managed only 17 sacks. Again, I credit this to his poise and presence in the pocket.

I've seen him take a hit, brush it off and get rid of the football... I've seen him effectively side-step pressure coming right at him from one defender... I've seen him step up to avoid pressure that he's able to just sense coming from behind him... I've seen him step back to effectively avoid pressure right up the middle... and very consistently I've seen him get rid of the ball just in time with his incredibly quick release.

His timing alone is impressive because he understands just how long he's able to hold onto the ball, and I'm sure he'd quickly figure out this much out in the NFL; he's not one to hold onto the ball too long. I don't think he's necessarily worse at dealing with pressure, but it does sound like he was under quite a bit more pressure than most.
