Nazis were always lefties, it's historical revisionism to think otherwise. And yes, go back through the non-religious inspired massacres of the last 120 years and you'll find that the left is the instigator the vast majority of the time.

Your problem is you equate oppression, nationalism and despotic dictators who call themselves Communists so they control populations with the Left.  

They seize guns? Leftist. 

They centralize government? Leftist.

They persecute minorities, gypsies, communists, heterosexuals, academics...leftists?

The Texas gunman was a defensive tackle on the football team who attended the Greek Orthodox Church. He liked music that appeals to neo-Nazis and alt-rightists.

He wasn't a leftist or righty. He was a freaking nut job.
