The Texas gunman was a defensive tackle on the football team who attended the Greek Orthodox Church. He liked music that appeals to neo-Nazis and alt-rightists.

He wasn't a leftist or righty. He was a freaking nut job.

With the gay, nazi, communist and satanic paraphernalia the kid had, he sounded like a very confused, "walking contradiction." It sounds like he was just looking for something to rebel against, yet he skipped the parts where he actually researched the things he was promoting. If he did, he'd know that most contradicted each other.
