Keenan has always been an amazing fellow. I still recall watching a "Cat Chow" video of him making a catch across the middle. The angle was much different than what was shown in the stadium or on the network..and it had real sound. As Keenan caught the pass, he had no time at all to defend himself. I forget which team we were playing...maybe the Ravens...but the whack sound of Keenan being absolutely hammered directly in the chest was eerie. I think everybody was stupefied over the fact that the hit was much more severe than it seemed on game day and Keenan maintained possession.

I seriously doubt anybody at Cat Chow was less than totally impressed with Keenan, who Jaguars' fans were still getting to know better at that time. The fact that he got up and walked back to the huddle was just incredible. 

During the Q and A portion of Cat Chow a fan asked how on earth McCardell was able to hold on to the football.

Keenan gave a unpredictably humble reply, "I am paid to catch the football. That's what I do for a living. I held on to it because that's what I'm paid to do."

It would be awesome if the Jaguars could draw up a series of Keenan McCardell player highlights in order to to help his "students" better appreciate him as a coach and so they can draw encouragement from the documentation of he was once in their shoes and he knows the way things must go.

Jimmy Smith deserves Hall of Fame induction. I also strongly feel that Keenan McCardell equally deserves Hall of Fame induction. I know Boselli is still trying to bully his way in. However, he didn't play long enough or make a great impact on the game. Personally, I remember it all so very well how Boselli ate up our salary cap while Jimmy and Keenan quietly accepted FAR less salary than what they were worth.

I may have messed up Thunder and Lightning on another thread, but I do have personal history with Jimmy and Keenan and I can tell you that they were always utmost professionals in public and Jimmy was a blast to chat with on Thursday afternoons at the old Jaguarsnfl.com chat room. Keenan actually picked up my toddling son at training camp one day and held in those incredible hand of his. Fumbling in that spot never crossed my mind.

I think it's time to get behind and push Jimmy and Keenan for the Hall of Fame. It might mark the first time that a "dynamic duo" have been inducted together. Hall of Fame selectors do listen to fans. I can tell you that a lot of us really campaigned to get Packers' great OG Jerry Kramer in. I am sure that if we begin to speak up on Jimmy and Keenan's behalf, the Hall of Fame selectors will at least have a sense of what we are thinking. It may cause enough buzz that fans of other teams in the NFL community might also get behind and push them forward.
