This site used Google AdSense as it's exclusive revenue source. If you are not seeing the advert towards the top of each page, then the PiHole is doing it's job!

But it's ok, I use uBlock Origin (with exclusions for sites I trust).

While tracking and whatnot is a big problem on the 'net, sometimes analyitics can be helpful. For example, we use Google Analytics to assess what areas of the site are popular and what devices people use to make sure we focus on what's important. This is how we knew that a mobile site was critical, since analytics confirmed that lots of people visited from mobile devices.
PiHole blocks that which is unfortunate. 

It's hard to debate against this type of blocking since so many sites have abused the tech. It sucks that sites that truely focus on making things as optimized & fast & safe as possible get lumped in with everyone else.
