Last year showed that if you give him help, and not put too much on his shoulders and put him in too many long yardage situations, he can be an effective QB.  Let's face it.  Had the defense held onto the lead, we'd have been in the Super Bowl last year with Bortles.

No he won't be.
But he could be Eli. I'd take that career as a fan.
Eli is/was also always under scrutiny too. Fans, sports writers and talking heads, terrible head coaches...
He never caught heat from players... but had plenty of haters. Never was an other worldly talent. But won 2 Superbowls with great D and run game.
But key from those runs was him making plays like getting away from the defenders to get the ball to Tyree for the bubblegum catch.
We have that kind of team right now. We have that kind of QB right now.
