With the demand for starting caliber of QB's in the NFL being noticeably greater than the supply,  at least one team would have taken a chance on Ryan Mallett in the first 2 Rounds of the draft if they thought that he had the reliability,  work ethic,  and leadership combo necessary to succeed as a starter in the league. 

 

W/o having a much greater body of NFL work,  how can a team give up a high 2nd Round pick for a player that is basically an unknown on the NFL regular season level?
