So in all likelihood all he had to do was give a carefully chosen SSN or TIN of someone who legally can work but isn't currently working.  There are people in Mexico you can buy that info from. The e-Verify system is supposed to thwart this.

This whole thing should highlight the real need for immigration reform, yet the left and much of the MSM for the most part is focusing on "Russia, collusion, impeachment".  What should really be an eye opener is had this happened in a "sanctuary city" he probably wouldn't be facing the appropriate federal charges against him in addition to murder.

The bottom line in this whole story is the scumbag perp is an illegal alien who already broke federal law by being in this country illegally and because of that a young beautiful women is dead and leaves behind a grieving family.

Illegal aliens aren't given SSNs.  They often fraudulently use the SSNs of others.  That's what this man may have done.
Also, you don't seem to understand what a sanctuary City actually is.  Federal law still applies there, but only federal officials enforce immigration law.  The local police don't cooperate as much as they should in a sanctuary City, but, the federal police still come in and round up illegal immigrants from time to time, no one stops them.
