The fact Leonard, averaging a measly 2.76 yards per carry in pre-season, is NOW claiming this year is much slower in camp than last year PROVES EMPHATICALLY the pace in camp is nowhere near what it needs to be in order to acclimate the team to actual NFL game day tempo.

It proves no such thing. Everything always slows down for players in their second year because they've adjusted more to the league tempo. What he's saying here is no-brainer material. None of this changes the fact that he still expected things to be faster as a rookie.

It proves Leonard came into camp MUCH lighter than last season. The game DOES NOT slow down. Players MUST pick up the pace.

As it stands now, I say that Jacobs LOOKS mighty good, but he will have to watch out that he doesn't get lulled into lagging play.

The best way to prevent this is for the coaching staff to step back, see the Jaguars' tempo is SLOWER than acceptable, and begin to push the entire squad to come up to regular season tempo. 

What is that going to hurt? Nothing.
