Spot swaps is pretty much when the team behind you trades for the player your about to pick, essentially. Try not to think of it as a pick trade, but more of a player trade. 

 

Example: Say the team with the second pick wants the player the team with the number one pick is getting. In this case, they're trading for the player, not the pick.

 

Those kind of deals can actually get the team trading back a lot of value, and considering Cleveland has another first rounder, they'd probably trade it.

 

But if Houston picks Clowney and St. Louis gets Matthews; then the number 3 pick would be the prime QB slot. Trading the #3 with the #4 still leaves 2 of the three big QB's, so Minnesota or Oakland still might trade with Jax afterwards.

 

 

Please don't take this scenario too seriously though, there are next to no chances of it happening and it's wishful thinking on my part. u_____u
