According to PFT...yes.

Quote:It’s still not clear whether that was the case. Multiple sources have suggested the Dolphins pursued Bridgewater. Others insist the Dolphins didn’t.
The Jaguars, per one source, also were involved to some degree. The specific extent isn’t known.
Regardless, no one was planning to make Bridgewater a starter. And, in theory, he could still be traded by the Saints to another team, if that team’s starting quarterback suffers a serious injury.

(Emphasis added)

Taking the above at face value, assuming the Jaguars were interested in Bridgewater, they weren't interested in making him a starter.

Assuming they were interested in Bridgewater, they weren't interested enough to beat the Saints' offer of a 3rd round pick for him.

Is there a chance the team could later decide Bortles warrants replacement?  Sure.

Is it possible other QBs could become available by 4pm whether through being cut/waived or traded?  Yes.

But the fact the Jaguars actually re-signed Bortles to a new 3 year contract and the fact the Jaguars did not make a serous play for another QB this offseason or preseason speaks volumes.

So Bortles haters, bottom line is that barring injury, Bortles is this team's QB for the foreseeable future.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!
