People mocking (draft) the Texans to take Clowney are misguided

Also, NOT getting a Clowney because you run a different scheme is the worst possible way of drafting. Clowney is good enough to find a spot on any defense. Also, having Clowney might push them to change to a 4-3 in the future. I believe you should accumulate the best possible players, and then find a scheme that maximizes their potential... not the other way around.
