Manning still has something left in the tank.  They cut bait just a bit too soon, IMO.  The bottoming out of the division around them makes them appear better positioned than they are.  They'd be far better with Manning and a stud devensive player instead of just Luck.

 

For right now that's true. How true it will be in the long term will be determined by where Luck's ceiling is.

 

If he stays a guy whose most dangerous weapon is running for 3rd down conversions until he finally gets a knee destroyed then you'll probably be right in the long run, too.

 

Of course, if Luck turns into a 35TD a year guy that wins games with his arm instead of by running he could end up the better option over the long term.
