I honestly think in the long run it's what's best for him. Flacco is 33. I think they're about finished with his contract extension with the possibility of opting out of it by 2020.

No need to rush Jackson into the starting line up just yet. Ozzie Newsome is smart. By the time they're finishing up with Flacco he'll have another decent team in place to support Jackson in the long run.

The AFC North is looking at a major change shortly if the Bengals and Steelers don't finish strong. Could be up for grabs by 2019 / 2020. It's slowly trending in that direction already.
