Maybe, maybe not. The real question is whether he is better for our team. I think that's a very legitimate question. These are the rate+ stats for the half season that Kessler got to start, as a rookie no less.

YPA+ 98, ANY/A+ 96, Comp%+ 112, TD%+ 85, INT%+ 124, Passrating+ 105

Those actually aren't half bad, I was surprised at how functional Kessler was when I looked up the numbers. And he was working with even worse weapons than Bortles is now, as a rookie. I don't think we need to go look at how Bortles' rookie year numbers were, let's just say they pale in comparison.

But looking closer, the traits that would appear to mesh best with Doug "I wouldn't take 15 more TDs if it meant 5 more INTs" Marrone's philosophy just so happen to be Kessler's best traits...so I don't think it's a question that can simply be brushed away.
