he settled with a injury payoff from jags when they cut him. Maybe he has healed by now. I wonder if they can resign him after paying him off?

NFL injury settlements all have different terms regarded projected time to heal and # of weeks of compensation. 
But a player can't return until six weeks after the projection. 

So if Koyack's settlement said he'd be out for five weeks for example, he wouldn't be allowed to sign until week eleven.
