I think this “simple/vanilla” thing is overblown too. It’s certainly not an exotic array of looks, but there are some moving parts/variations in the zone coverages Wash is calling and the players are not always executing them. The nickel, the SS, and the LBs have all had their moments botching plays and the corners have had lapses as well when they misread receivers breaks or didn’t pick up a player entering their zone very well.

I think the defensive talent is underachieving as much - or nearly as much as Wash is failing to adjust what isn’t working in real time.

I see... Marrone was saying I think we're giving them too much "zone" plays lol
