I personally think it was a mutual decision. The Jags are in roster evaluation and rebuild 2-3 down the road mode, Daryl Smith didn't fit that. Daryl is nearing the end of his career and I'm sure he wanted to play for a contender to finish out his stellar career, and the Jags didn't fit that.

 

Why can't we just be happy that Daryl is playing well and getting the national attention he deserves? I'm happy for Daryl, and I'm happy that Geno Hayes (and hopefully Laroy Reynolds) are getting the experience and evaluation needed to determine if they are fixtures for the future. 

 

I remember seeing it on twitter from Mark Long I think and it was in the Baltimore sun one of the reasons he was signed so late was because Jacksonville was still talking to him until the final couple of weeks before he signed with Baltimore. I don't have the links but maybe a google search would show something up? I don't know I remember reading about it.
