I don't think Smith is playing well at all this year, a 2nd for a LB is steep. I'd expect a 4th at best, but that's still solid value and you can still find 3-4 LBs in the 4th. Otherwise I agree with this, 3-4 is the modern way to play defense... It can still be solid vs the run and its especially good for confusing and disrupting pass offenses.

Smith was voted the #67 overall player in the entire NFL last year. Asking for a 2nd is not a steep price. Teams who run a 4-3 scheme would pay it.
