I think Fournette would have absolutely been the pick even if Coughlin was not part of the organization. It was just a happy coincidence that it also jived with what Tom would want. Caldwell was looking for any way possible to salvage his legacy defining franchise QB pick and LF was the prototype to try to hide Bortles behind a run based attack. The only problem with this plan is that it's the 2010s and not the 1980s.
