Do you trust Caldwell to find our Franchise QB?

Failing to address the QB situation, not properly evaluating/scouting potential QB's...

Not having enough quality depth at O-line....

I'll tell you what would really restore some confidence in Caldwell... If we could get the best 5 pass rushers left on the board in 2019 as our first 5 picks.

No one really makes it through smoothly when you are down to a 3rd string never having played LT, LT.

Not to mention the TE position, which would help mask some of the above issue.  You also are down to a 3rd to 4th stringer there.  These aren't excuses.  We are what we are.

I think our problems to date are a snowball effect of the above, the weapons we planned on having we don't (you can argue Lee and ASJ would have a marginal effect if you like), a regression of Cole, no other TE contribution at all, our change of pace back who I'm sure we had envisioned a bigger role being out, and LF being out.

You can coach up to mask some of that, but when your plan has been pretty much cremated from week one on, and then just compounded, it ain't going to be great.

My frustration is that we just kill Bortles, when he has no weapons.  He has fault, to be sure, but man.....it ain't like he's got Manning's weapons.

I agree with you here.

Losing Marquise Lee, ASJ, Fournette being out, LT, role player running back, etc. was just too much to overcome.  If the team was healthy on that side of the ball I think we would have seen a much better outcome from some of these games played.

Quite frankly, I don't think Bortles has played as bad as most on here would say.  Yes he has made some bad plays, but so have a lot of other players.  I think the defensive struggles that we see are a direct result of not being able to run the offense as planned.

I'm guessing if the team can get Fournette back and get the running game going as planned where the offense can move the chains and put points on the board we will see the defense shine like they should.  The big key here is that the offense needs to put points on the board and not play from behind.  It's not going to happen throwing more than running.  That's not the way this offense is designed.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.
