This doesn't even take into account the Lions cap situation which if they trade or release Stafford would require them to take a $49 million dollar cap hit next year.  He's pretty much going to be a Lion for the next 2 years at least as a result of his deal.

That's why I feel like we will be staying in our same situation as well. Some throw out Flacco's name but buddy's contract is big as well. The harsh reality is that Blake may start next year. IMO I don't see a QB in college right now that can come in and start in the NFL. But hey, im no scout. Im no insider.

I do believe that Blake will be here next year and start if no viable vet QB is signed.
You're right. No one here is a scout or insider.

But there are a lot of insiders out there with direct information in the building. They believe Blake is gone next year. You are under the belief that Blake will be the starter next year even though they have benched him for a (in your eyes) worse QB in Kessler. What does that say about Blake? There will be a new OC next season. What OC is going to want to come in here with Blake? Try and teach a QB with clear limitations a new system and pay Blake 21 million?

I take all these factors into consideration and to me, it spells out the end for Blake. Cut him, play Kessler or someone else a minimum contract and draft a rookie. The Jags have no money for Teddy B or any other QB with a price tag over 10 million.
