While I don't feel Teddy is going to be an elite QB, I think he'll be a good (top half of league with time) pro. At some point in a rebuild, a team must put a QB into the build in order to develop.

Caldwell chose not to draft one last year, in hopes of a better QB later. In my opinion, next year at this point does not appear better, and there would be an unknown if their draft position next year may afford them the opportunity of someone better if there is one better.

The days of having to pay 1st round QB JeMarcus Russell ($60m+ deal with $30m+ guaranteed) type money is gone...thank you rookie salary agreement with the player's union. If Teddy, or some other rookie QB, does not work out, the team can just move on to another QB opportunity. The financial crippling effect of a high 1st round QB bust has been removed.

This team swung and missed with Leftwich, then again with Gabbert. But, many home runs have been hit with 2 strikes on the hitter. It's time to step up to the plate again. (Even if you strike out....there are 2 more outs!).
