I've said before I don't trust Khan either. But to your point above; he won't need to show the city a 3 year run of losing money to get out of the lease. What's remaining on the lease is a pittance to what he would gain in equity if he moved the team. He's already broken the lease with the city by taking the games to London and he's broken the 3-year agreement with season ticket holders to provide 30 games over the next 3 years at a locked-in price.

 

He paid $750 million for the team. If he were to move the team to L.A., for instance, it would immediately be worth $1 billion plus. Paying off a $25 million lease to Jacksonville is hardly a show stopper when he just profitted $250+ million by the move.
