At What Point Is Gus Bradley On The Hot Seat?

#72

Quote:Bradley and Caldwell have absolutely zero pressure on their shoulders and it shows. They have 2 years to fail as hard as they can. In case my fellow Jag fans have not figured it out we are tanking, the process has already begun.

I have so much respect for the 60K Jag fans that show up to Everbank week in and week out knowing we are going to get slaughtered without a single play to drool on or over-hype for future hope.

I respect Khan dividing business and football decisions but would like to see a little less cheerleading and defending of poor play and a little more authoritative leadership.

Did you listen to Tomlin's post game comments? He said they suck and those that do not get better will not be on the team. A very different mentality then we have here.

Loved Tomlin's press conference. I want that kind of coach here. Not all nicey nice.

Quote:I'm not sure about this point. The roster turnover here from last year to now suggests otherwise.

___

And, just in general and directed at no one in particular, it seems there's a pretty obvious consensus that Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne aren't worth their salt and simply shouldn't be starting in the NFL. I find it really difficult to jump on the "Bradley's Seat Should Be Heating Up" Train because of the mind-numbing state the roster was in even before he arrived.

Perhaps idealistic, but I don't think Bradley or Caldwell should have to go down on the Gabbert/Henne ship.

A second point -- to those suggesting the Jaguars MUST tank the season to get Teddy (and, yes, there are some of you), how can you possibly then turn around and say you'd find it hard to keep Bradley for going 0-16?

I am one who wishes that the team tank the season to get Bridge....but that doesn't necessarily mean 0-16 with zero progress during the season in certain team area. I also understand you can have a lousy final record but still show progress.

Quote: I agree with the Chief. The instant gratification society we live in today is far different than the Tom Landry era at the beginning of the Cowboys.  People today have come to demand results much quicker.  His decision that Gabbert is his guy will only hasten the arrival of the hot seat for the Coach!

You say people (fans) have instant gratification and demand results quicker....however, it actually IS a lot easier in todays NFL to rebuild/ have success than ever before. Free agency and the changing rules since the days of Landry have made it so.
