Blake single-handedly lost some games for the Jags. He had lots of help along the way though.

Ultimately - you have to point to the front office for sticking with him after 2016 IMO, but the 2018 season failure has been a perfect storm of suckage from every angle.  Not just Blake and the F.O.

Even the one thing we weren't supposed to have any concern about (the defense) found ways to give up bug chunk plays and gift wins to opponents instead of closing out games.

I have no idea who will ultimately calling shots in the draft and free agency this year, but they have a tall order to fix the offense. And whoever the coaching staff may be has a tall order to lead a talented defensive roster to better discipline and consistency.

Blame who you want - I'm focused on fixing it.

Leave the defense out of this, remember last year, they came out, did their job, and got the ball back where the offense drove down the field and got at least one first down, think of it this way, typically a play runs about 40 secs, in a normal game setting, like the first drive, much faster if the end of a game and a team is in the hurry-up offense.

Now 4/5 times in the Steelers game our offense didn't get a single first down, 3 and out. so roughly 40 secs per play, 2:00 minutes and its 4th down, punt and commercials (official Timeout) 2:00 minutes, so for 5 straight drives the defense was asked to stop a high powered offense, not to mention it got faster on the last few drives as they were in a hurry-up mode, players with hands on hips trying to catch their breath only to have to go back out 4 minutes later and do it all again. so yeah leave the Defense out of it. The defense is fine IMO, sure there are a few issues but being on the field time and time again does not help.
You're kind-of missing my point. I'm saying 2018 was so bad, even the good players on the roster screwed up.

I think the defense is indeed basically fine. But they underachieved in 2018. They played badly during significant portions of about 5 games at times when offensive three and outs were not an issue. Lots of individual screw ups from players that should be better than the performances they turned in. Busted coverages, bad run fits from backers, DTs manhandled in run defense, and bad angles from safeties all reared their head more so than in 2017. I'm not going to just ignore that stuff.

I think they can play better without major changes, but they'll need a fire lit under their rear-ends prior to the 2019 campaign IMO.
