Alex Smith is an average QB that can look good when the situation is excellent, like it was last year. Bortles is a bad QB that can look average when the situation is excellent, like it was last year. And I would 10000% rather have Alex Smith as a mentor for a young QB than Bortles.

you do realize that Alex smith after his first 5 years was booted out of sf and was worst then Blake is. But yall want him now and want to pay him one of them huge 100m contracts. Most QBs that are good out the gate dont make it after 3 year or so look at jamis and mariota and all the other next big things. a QB that gradually gets better with talent around him is who you should count on. Blake has no talent around him LF to me is more of a bust then Blake is.
