Alex Smith is an average QB that can look good when the situation is excellent, like it was last year. Bortles is a bad QB that can look average when the situation is excellent, like it was last year. And I would 10000% rather have Alex Smith as a mentor for a young QB than Bortles.

When has the situation been "excellent" for Blake?

I guess the question Im asking is offensively "excellent". Blake has never had a Hill, Watkins, or Kelce.

The best he has had is what, AR15, Hurns, Lee, and Lewis or ASJ. And he has had no where near the level of coaching as Andy Reid.

I keep telling everyone, Alex S. was good once they got a line and some weapons in SF. He only lost his job because he got hurt and he had the that "the city hates him" stigma around him. He really was on a roll that year and Kap finished it off.
