He's had a few chances to get it done now and while performing well enough to get close, he's not been able to seal the deal. 

 

I respect Harbaugh if he'd move on and deal Kaep at this point. 

 

As said, I know if that was most teams in the same situation, they'd probably try to make it work with Kaepernick until the team finally got old and declined. It takes smarts and guts to move on when you're that close, but realize that the QB just isn't good enough.
