Eight Position to Fill This Offseason
|
Bortles isn't coming back. The writing is on the wall. You don't pay him a small fortune to be on the roster next year when you know what you've got with him. Desgnate him as a post June 1 cut and you move on.
I don't get where anyone thinks LF is gone. You don't cut the #4 drafted player after two seasons, even if this past season was below expectations. His behavior was unacceptable, but it's not like he was caught beating a woman or anything serious like that. Just immaturity. He'll be given another chance. If anything, the Jags should have fired Caldwell for drafting him and Bortles. Grant was paid almost $3M last year and unless he comes back at a vet minimum, I don't see him coming back. He didn't do much last year and other than straight line speed, he doesn't offer much in elusiveness and durability. Plus, lisfranc injuries are not easy to come back from for a running back. |
