We lost some good position coaches.

I've been buried with work and just getting caught up around here, but I tend to agree with this.

Now, the Fewell thing I can kind-of understand because of the number of busted coverages and clear instances wherein players were blatantly confused about their assignments. 
However - that stuff seemed to largely get corrected.  And the passing numbers against this defense certainly don't paint Fewell in a negative light. 
Perhaps he and Wash just didn't agree on what went wrong/how to fix it. 

I don't know enough about Flaherty to really comment - and the 2018 season for his group is pretty tough to judge with a rotating cast of scrap-heap players. 

The Hobby thing is a serious head scratcher.  I don't get what the issue is there. I almost want to assume it's something personal and not about player development.  No clue. Seems like an odd firing to say the least.

Yeah, I agree with both of you.

To be honest, as much as I love him, if we are talking about on-field produciton/improvements/results one would think McCardell would be the first one to go. Receivers leading the league in drops and everything. (Not that I necessarily think it's the WR coach fault). Or the TE coach would be the second one to go.
I mean one would think that the coaches related to a lack of a passing game would be the first ones out...yet we are firing at least 2 of the best position group coaches on the other side of the ball.
Wheatley was an expected move.

While Oline play was a disaster Flaherty was dealt an impossible hand. You see Olines throughout the league falling apart with just one starter missing, he had to be with a new LT/RT pretty much every week, 2nd, 3rd, even 4th string guys here and there. Damn the Giants season starting oline had on the right side Flowers and Omameh and they were so bad they got cut and we had to sign them to play on our left side (Omameh even at RT in some instances). It was that bad.

We'll see once the new OC gets named if something changes. At this point I think Wash stays...
We'll see, just surprised at some of these moves.
