Well Flacco didnt show much clutch ability at the end of the regular season this year.  I dont really buy "clutch".  I think the question shouldnt be is the guy clutch, the question should be can this guy be good enough from time to time.  As we've seen with wilcard teams winning Super Bowls, the best team doesnt win the Super Bowl.  Its the team that gets hot at the right time.  Same for QBs.  Best QB doesnt always win.  But a lot of times the guy who plays the best that day does win.

 

Sure you'd like to get Brady, but thats pure luck.  Sure you'd like to get a Peyton, but he is a once a decade draft prospect.  If you told me we would walk away from this draft with a guy as good as Flacco, I would take that tomorrow.  Maybe Flacco has is ups and downs.  However Flacco has proven he can play good enough to win it all.  Maybe he wont be able to carry his team to the playoffs every year the way Peyton and Brady can, but there are few who can.  And to expect we'll end up with Brady or Peyton is setting oneself up for disappointment.
