I followed the times-union guys twitter feeds every day during camp and their were numerous mentions of Fournette looking good, or impressive, or explosive in camp.  There was also a take on his coming in lighter and looking even faster from various outlets of the local press.

Yea I remember him being lighter going into camp. The issues with fournette rose from continuously getting injured, then making bad decisions. His character and caring about this team is now in question.

The issues with Fournette are numerous. I'm just trying to dispel this one thing that seems to be completely born out of numerous people totally misunderstanding the Q&A exchange between Fournette and a reporter a few weeks ago. The question was specifically about his health mid-season after returning from injury. Yet many ignored the details of the question and projected his response to mean he was out of shape when he reported. 

If he was out of shape last summer, there sure were a lot of folks claiming the opposite at the time.
