I too think we need to stay away from Haskins, like I said in another thread I cant think of any Urban Meyer QB's that went on to have a really good NFL career and that's including his time in Florida.

This right here. Think back to the year Mariota and Winston came out. Everyone thought at least one was a sure thing, and now both may done as starters before their second contracts.

Sure, most people think the 2020 QB class will be great, but you just never know. You obviously scout them and 2019 class and see where you get the most value.

Also, that the longer you wait, the more of the current Jags defense you will start to lose. By 2020, Dareus and Bouye may be gone. By 2021, maybe both Mack and Telvin. True some have not been as dominant as last year, but Jags would have to find players to fill those spots in the draft

So, I get a bit annoyed that so many people want Flacco or Taylor as bridge QB. Sure, these are "safe" and "conservative" QB's, but to me that means the Jags could probably be in the 7-9 to 9-7 range. That also means a fringe playoff team, but that also probably means a team that won't win it all and and then will have a middling pick.

I almost prefer going with more of a gamble like with Fitzpatrick. If he surges, you would have a dynamic team that could make some noise. If he busts, you at least end up with a super high draft pick.
