No.  We interfered in Chile so that a US owned corporation could maintain its ownership of Chile's copper mines.  
It was to prevent their government from taking over.
Venezuela's government took over their mineral resources a very long time ago.  I don't think our interference is about that.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
