Morgan and Morgan petition to raise Florida minimum wage to $15

#23

Real life example why this is so dangerous. I pay respectable wages to semi-entry level mechanics doing C-B grade tech work roughly $13-$15 an hour pending certifications and experience. I pay entry level tire guys $10-$12 an hour and I pay certified mechanics $20-$30 an hour. I have to collect $110 an hour to offset payroll cost, if they raise the entry level guy to $15 I have to raise the midgrade guys to at least $20 and the certified guys well over $30 I'd have to raise my labor rate to at least $130 to offset the increased wages and taxes. Now that's assuming my company oks the pay increases, some companies will simply say sorry about your luck you used to make $5-$6 over minimum wage but now you make minimum wage take it or leave it. As the cost of goods goes up that minimum wage is no longer as valuable. Who wins?
