It amazes me that people like you believe another country is responsible for our national security. I know you've become numb or dismissive to the fact that we send billions abroad for other countries security but that won't be reciprocated here.

If another country isn't responsible for our national security, why were we promised that they would be? Savings from a trade deal aren't anywhere near the same thing as the promised check from Mexico.

Allow me to preface the following statement.  I am no fan of Trump.  I did not vote for him.  With that said having watched him with an unbiased eye and admittedly a right leaning view did you really expect Mexico to write a check when he made that statement?  Trump is a lot of things that I disagree with but one thing that I do find common ground with him is that he may perceive his thoughts as clear when he says things.  I am not going to say that this is what happens with him however I often find myself uttering statements that I perceive as being completely coherent but upon further review often need an explanation.
